Welcome
to this week’s update; please forgive me for I know
it has been two weeks since my last diary (not quite a
confession but good enough...!)
It’s certainly been a busy two weeks with networking
nights, parties, buffets, sport and a lot of public holidays.

It
all started with an American Chamber of Commerce
(AMCHAM) networking evening which saw a really
good turn out, free Heineken and wine provided by the chamber
and free food provided by Jameson's Bangkok - all went down
a treat. In fact, the beer went down all too well and extra
had to be brought in. As always with the AMCHAM they collect
an entry fee from all the visitors which they use to fund
the evening and then any surplus is awarded to Charities,
so a special big thank you for all of those that turned
up. I have a copy of the AMCHAM fact sheet and all you need
to do is click the below link to read more about them and
what they do.

During the evening we
held a business card draw for all the guests to join in
and this time the Lucky winner was Florian Preuss,
the Thailand and Mekong Region Manager for Etihad
Airways. He received 2,000 Baht in vouchers to
spend on food and beverage at Jameson's Bangkok. Florian
has been living and working here in Thailand for 3 years
and prior to that worked out of Hong Kong. He is from Germany
although speaking to him you would never know as he has
no accent. When I asked him where his accent was, he told
me he had lost it whilst being educated overseas. If you'd
asked me I would have definitely said he was English...!
Etihad are an ever expanding airways that
continue to impress all their passengers, so next time you
are considering a journey make sure you check out their
fares. I have also included a link to their fact sheet just
click below to to see it.

We also
hosted a party for some friends and regular guests of Jameson's
Bangkok and as you can see from the Photos, the food was
delicious and was soon devoured by all.
If you are considering a venue for your next party, feel
free to contact me and see what we can do for you. Judging
by the number of events coming up it is always best to plan
ahead. Our next major event will be a for the British Chamber
of Commerce (BCCT) on June 5th 2009. It is a networking
night and is being held as a prelude to the Tesco Lotus
Master Football tournament. Jameson's Bangkok will also
be hosting a bottle bar at the tournament for all those
thirsty fans and players. For more information contact the
BCCT here in Bangkok. For any players who need accommodation
during the tournament contact me - tim@jamesons-bangkok.com
- and I can get some special rates courtesy of Michael
Horsburgh, the ever friendly General Manager
of the Holiday Inn Silom. |

Another
great sporting event has just gone by this week with the
unfortunate knock out of my friend Ricky Hatton.
Congratulations to his opposition the great Many
Pacquiao. I know a lot of people have had the pleasure
of meeting Ricky and know that he is genuinely a really
nice guy. I think now he can maybe turn to his alter ego
and become a stand up comedian as he is also one of the
funniest guys I have met. |

Thanks for all the fans
that turned up early on Sunday morning to support the fight
and a special thank you to his friends from Manchester
‘Team Hatton’ for choosing to watch
the fight here (I promise I won’t tell your wives). |

Also on the sporting
front, a very, very big thank you to Dave from England for
bringing me an autographed Everton shirt. He managed to
get his friend (and Everton Youth Team Coach) to sneak into
the changing rooms and get the lads to sign a shirt for
me, so thanks very much! Any of you who have sports memorabilia
that you would like to display at Jameson's Bangkok, please
contact me for details. |

In this photo you see

was a special occasion as they were bought for us by Bimal
after he lost in a doubles match. No sweeter taste than
victory...! Keep practicing Bimal. ;o) |
Thanks for
reading this weeks diary, my staff and I hope to see you
very soon at Jameson's Bangkok. In the meantime here's a
few more photos from the AMCHAM Networking meeting. |
